Santa Cruz 66 Beats SLV 21 played at Santa Cruz. Sophomore Abby Lahey had six points and six rebounds for SLV. Senior Abbie Monroy contributed with four points, five rebounds, and three steals for the Cougars. Freshman Amelia Sizemore had five points. It was "Go 4 the Goal" helping kids with cancer achieve their goals. SLV hosts SV on Tuesday.
The Scotts Valley High Falcons played the Monte Vista Mustangs in non-league action tonight. After being down 12-9 at the end of the first quarter, the Falcons went on to outscore the Mustangs 43-26 to win the game 52-38. Leading the Falcons in scoring was senior Derek Tom with 11 points, juniors Daniel Sullivan, and Jack Fletcher with 8 points each. Also contributing off the bench was junior Lance Ultsch with 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks and a steal.
Scotts Valley High’s Mitch Ross picked the perfect day to run the race of his life. On the biggest stage, at the CIF State Cross Country Championships, and in his final race as a Falcon, held last Saturday in Fresno, the senior surprised everyone, including himself, by finishing the Division lV race in second place, and by doing so, helped Scotts Valley garner second place as a team, the best finish in school history.
Scotts Valley Little League Majors are the Northern California District 39 Champions! The team of 12-year-olds defeated Santa Cruz 6-4 to advance to the sectionals. Congratulations boys!

Last week, Scotts Valley High School student-athletes and Breakers FC players Ryan Gomez, Nico Smith and Matteo Carbone participated in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy's Summer Showcase in Oceanside, where Development Academy soccer teams from around the nation met to compete in the Academy's signature event.
On June 18, the Scotts Valley Little League Rangers AAA team beat the Aptos Little League Red Sox AAA team 12-11 and, in turn, won the 2019 California District 39 Little League Minor Tournament of Champions (TOC).Â
