Two probable cases of H1N1 flu have turned up in Santa Cruz County. Both were mild cases, and the patients have since recovered.
County health officials reported on May 22 that a 37-year-old man from the northern part of the county and a 16-year-old girl from the southern section of the county tested positive, and the cases were being treated as if they were “confirmed” cases.
Most cases of swine flu are mild to moderate, and officials advise anyone with flu symptoms to stay home, rest, drink liquids and, if necessary, take aspirin. Only if symptoms become severe or prolonged should a patient consult a medical practitioner, officials say.
