Burglars took valuable equipment and a set of keys, giving them access to other campuses, from Scotts Valley Middle School over the weekend.
According to a news release from Scotts Valley Police Department on Monday, the theft was discovered at 6:30 a.m. on Monday. Investigators believe someone broke into a maintenance shed on the campus, 8 Bean Creek Rd., between Friday night and Monday morning. According to the release, a “large quantity of valuable tools and maintenance shop equipment” was taken as well as a set of keys used to access all Scotts Valley campuses.
The district re-keyed doors at the schools and is still trying to determine the monetary value of the stolen equipment.
Police investigators have not yet identified a suspect or suspects and have increased patrols around all school campuses.
