After hearing oral arguments in March, the Court of Appeal ruled a taxpayer does have standing to challenge a governmental entity, in this case a water district that has a conflict of interest.

April 1 brought a new season to harvest abalone in California. This comes as no April fools joke; the season is serious for sport fishing. There is no commercial harvest allowed for any abalone in California.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, responsible for more deaths each year than from all other causes combined. Between the ages of 45 to 65, one in nine women develops some form of cardiovascular disease. After age 65 the ratio climbs to one in three women.
