Scotts Valley Fire Protection District has appointed Alex Titus to its Board of Directors, filling the seat left vacant by the resignation of Zach Raney.
Titus has lived in Scotts Valley with his wife, Elana, and their two children since 2014. He is employed by Microsoft as a senior business development manager and previously worked as a meteorologist. Titus earned his Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University.
In addition to accepting the appointment, Titus has filed to serve a four-year term as one of two directors whose seats are up for election this fall. Because only two candidates filed for the two available seats, both candidates will be appointed in lieu of an election in November, in accordance with applicable election procedures.
“We are pleased to welcome Alex Titus to the Scotts Valley Fire Protection District Board of Directors,” said Board President Daron Pisciotta. “His professional experience in business and finance, strong community ties, and commitment to public service will be valuable assets as the District continues its work to provide exceptional emergency services and address the need for a safe, properly located fire station.”
Titus said he is honored to serve the residents of Scotts Valley and looks forward to supporting the Fire Protection District’s mission, including strengthening wildfire resilience and addressing its fire station needs in a fiscally responsible manner.
Titus took the oath of office at the District’s Aug. 12 Board meeting.
