The Scotts Valley Police Department has recently received several reports of residential and commercial burglaries throughout the city of Scotts Valley. Thieves have gained access into unlocked vehicles and unlocked garage doors and have stolen personal property including: bicycles, cash, firearms and personal electronics.

Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors voted in January to cut solar permitting fees by half for residents in unincorporated areas of the county.

Shooting suspects arrested within hours, face gang charges

In what is thought to be a gang related event, a 20 year old resident on Berry Street near Avalon Street was shot. He was struck in the arm and transported to a Bay Area trauma center for treatment. The victim’s wound was not life threatening.
