The San Lorenzo Valley Boys Golf Team won two matches yesterday at Boulder Creek Golf Club, defeating the Santa Cruz High Cardinals and the Sharks of St. Francis.
On Friday the Falcons and Cougars squared off in their annual Dual in the Pool. Both teams train at the SLVHS facility and know it very well — which usually gives rise to some fast swims and a fun, competitive meet. This year did not disappoint.
There was never any doubt that the Scotts Valley Girls’ Basketball team would qualify for the Central Coast Section playoffs this year. After all, the Falcons cruised through Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play undefeated (12-0) for the third straight year and beat Soquel in the SCCAL post-season tournament championship game.
On Tuesday, February 24, at the Boulder Creek Golf and Country Club, Mark Mercer, Athletic Director at San Lorenzo Valley High School and Head Golf Coach, made his first ever hole-in-one.
As high school basketball season comes to an end, ScottsValleyHigh School will be celebrating the basketball players who are graduating. The annual celebration consists of a younger player giving a speech honoring a graduating player. Following each ceremony is a basketball game, this year against Santa Cruz High School. There are two Bowl games this weekend, and Santa Cruz County will host the one guaranteed to be most fun! It’s North against South this Saturday, February 6, at the 10th Annual Lions Senior Bowl at SoquelHigh School. The Lions Bowl features senior all-stars from NorthCounty high schools going up against seniors from SouthCounty high schools, and everybody is going to win!
