The Scotts Valley High School girls varsity basketball team advanced to the semifinals with a hard-fought second round game in the NorCal Division IV basketball tournament on Saturday night.

I have the pleasure of watching our community play golf. I see the swings, and hear the tales of agony and success.

The ScottsValley coaching staff couldn’t have written a much better script in its homecoming performance last Friday. The defense was unrelenting. The offense operated with power and precision and special teams’ play was exactly that, special. It all added up to a dominating 46-0 victory over visiting EurekaHigh School in front of a large and enthusiastic homecoming crowd under the lights in ScottsValley.

Cougars softball falls in second round of playoffs

While the Falcons remain undefeated in league play at 4-0, the Scotts Valley Lacrosse team fell to Serra High School 17-7 on April 5. at Branciforte Middle School in non-league play.

Featuring a mixed roster of upperclassman veterans and underclassman rookies, the Scotts Valley High softball team has its collective eyes set on the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League championship.
