Joey Canepa Sargent, a 6-pound 15-ounce boy, was born to Marlee Elise (McGuffick) and Nathan Robert Sargent of Ben Lomond at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz. He was born at 9:57 a.m. on Dec. 30, 2014.
Teen Time: Work through a cancerous subject
I want to bring up a subject that is hard to open up about, but needs to be talked about: cancer. Cancer is tricky and difficult and can bring out all sorts of emotions in people.
The Anderson Case
On a March Sunday in 1901, the McNab Oil Company’s excursion to the sand hills adjoining Newell Creek brought out a crowd of curious spectators. “The rain was coming down in torrents,” reported the Sentinel, "but the showers did not prevent the excited visitors from going over the grounds and viewing everything there. Complemented by bottles of Ben Lomond Grey Riesling of the vintage of ’87 “Oysters, chickens and turkeys made a speedy disappearance,” said the Sentinel.
