Nature Friendly: Quail Hollow Ranch — A Walk through a herp haven
At Quail Hollow Ranch in Ben Lomond, I’ve seen the gopher-eating great blue heron and the mountain lion that hides in a small grove of trees across from the pond and takes his deer kill from the nearby fields. Straight Dope: Prep your kids for college
It’s that time of year: College applications have been filed, last-chance SAT subject tests are coming up, and the dreaded FAFSA financial aid applications will be tackled soon. There they received proclamations from the Mayor of Scotts Valley and special recognition from the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

The Mountain Gardener: Christmas Lore from the Mountain Gardener
